Employment Category: Flexible, 0-40 hours per week, with no benefits. Will require working evenings, week-ends and Holiday hours. NOTE: A flexible employee is one who serves in either a continuing or temporary (time limited) position, on a scheduled or unscheduled (as needed or intermittent) basis, up to 40 hours per week. Flexible employees are not eligible to participate in the CNIC benefit programs, nor are they entitled to earn or use leave including military leave, court leave, sick or annual leave.

Introduction: Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay’s NRPA award-winning and CAPRA accredited MWR Program is seeking a team-centered individual with a customer-focused attitude to serve as a Recreation Aid. The ideal candidate will have experience in customer service, and be able to deal with any inquires or concerns from patrons in a diplomatic and professional manner. Innovation, teamwork, and a strong work ethic are distinctive principles applied daily and will be expected of the chosen applicant.
Duties: Incumbent will assist in the day-to-day operation of the facility, will be responsible for a change fund, cash and credit receipts received for retail sales. Assists patrons in selection of merchandise and services. Ensures that the facility is neat and clean, and that equipment is in good condition. Performs other duties as assigned.
Must have the ability to deal courteously with the public.
Must be able to operate a cash register and have cash-handling experience.
Must be able to work independently and make sound decisions unsupervised.
Must have the ability to communicate clearly, orally and in writing.
Physical Demands and Work Environment: Work requires standing, walking, bending, carrying and lifting items that may weigh up to 40 pounds, occasionally required to lift heavier items with assistance. Work is performed indoors. The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts, which require normal safety precautions. The area is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, however, during movie operations limited lighting is available, requiring care in walking around.
