Employment Category: Flexible, 0-40 hours per week, with no benefits. May be required to work night, weekend and holiday hours. NOTE: A flexible employee is one who serves in either a continuing or temporary (time limited) position, on a scheduled or unscheduled (as needed or intermittent) basis, up to 40 hours per week. Flexible employees are not eligible to participate in the CNIC benefit programs, nor are they entitled to earn or use leave including military leave, court leave, sick or annual leave.
Duties: Observes the activities of patrons to ensure that safety rules are followed. Advises patrons of pool regulations, procedures and basic safety precautions. Rescues swimmers when necessary and administers First Aid as warranted. Summons medical assistance when necessary. Observes patrons both in and around the pool area to detect any accidents or injuries. Sets up pool area, cleans and removes debris or other hazardous objects. Takes periodic checks on chemical contents of the water. Responsible for the cleanliness of the buildings and grounds at the pool area. Operates cash register as needed and performs other related duties as assigned.
- Must have current American Red Cross or other nationally recognized lifeguard certification.
- Must attach a copy of valid certification to application.
- Must be at least 15 years old.
- Must be CPR and First Aid certified.
- Must have the ability to enforce safety regulations.
Physical Demands and Work Environment: Will be required to work outdoors in hot weather and will be exposed to direct sunlight for extended periods of time.
Basis of Review: Applicants will be evaluated based on experience and qualifications described above and presented in written format.
CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT: Position is subject to special inoculation and immunization requirements. Must pass a pre-employment physical, provide evidence of immunization and be free from communicable disease.
