Child Development Center
Rest assured that your child is in caring hands at the MWR Kings Bay Child Development Center (CDC). The CDC is a National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) accredited program, offering full-time and hourly/drop-in care for children ages six weeks to five years. Additionally, the CDC offers three Georgia Bright from the Start Pre-K programs. The Georgia PreK program offers 6 and half hours of free instructional care for children that are age four by September 1, and are a Georgia resident.
The CDC develops and implements programs to meet each child’s social, emotional, physical, and intellectual needs, instilling in them a feeling of competence and positive self-concept. Kids will love playing on the age-appropriate playgrounds, especially the natural and accessible play spaces. Inside, classrooms ensure a safe and fun environment, supported by a caring, professional staff. The CDC values and supports staff development through monthly training and required CPR and First Aid certification so they are well equipped to support the individual needs of children.
Open to active-duty, civilian, Reservist on active duty or inactive duty for training, and contractors associated with the base. There are also special programs to assist Wounded Warriors, Fallen Warriors' family members, and Individual Augmentees.
