Employment Category: Regular Full Time, 35-40 hours per week, with benefits. May require working evening, weekend and holiday hours.
Location: Marketing Department aboard Naval Submarine Base, Kings Bay, Georgia
Duties: Assists in the administrative duties associated with planning, initiating, and implementing a comprehensive marketing program including public relations, advertising, research, and commercial sponsorship. Assists with the coordination of MWR publicity through newsletters, newspapers, Plans of the Day, brochures, posters, and other media sources. Prepares draft articles for newspapers and newsletters. Assists in researching and developing resources available to provide cost-effective and profitable programs, events, promotions, and activities. Assists in the preparation of brochures, posters, newsletters, and other media sources. Assists with media distribution. Performs a variety of marketing assistant tasks such as correspondence and responding to telephone inquiries. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Ø Must have one year of clerical experience.
Ø Experience in marketing/advertising preferred.
Ø Ability to use computer-based programs.
Ø Must be able to work independently and make sound decisions unsupervised.
Ø Must have the ability to communicate clearly, orally and in writing.
Ø Must have the ability to deal courteously with the public.
Physical Demands and Work Environment: Work requires the ability to move, lift and carry items up to 40 pounds (over 40 pounds with assistance), standing and walking for long periods of time and some bending and stooping. Work may be performed both indoors and outdoors. Indoor work will be in areas that have adequate heating, lighting and ventilation. Some facilities will require exposure to outdoors resulting in exposure to various climactic conditions, i.e., heat, cold, rain and humidity.
