Position: Gardener/Greenskeeper, NA-5003-06
Starting Pay: $13.10 per hour
Employment Category: Flexible, 0-40 hours per week, with no benefits. May require working night, weekend and holiday hours. Night shift differential and holiday/Sunday premium pay will be paid for hours worked. NOTE: A flexible employee is one who serves in either a continuing or temporary (time limited) position, on a scheduled or unscheduled (as needed or intermittent) basis, up to 40 hours per week. Flexible employees are not eligible to participate in the CNIC benefit programs, nor are they entitled to earn or use leave including military leave, court leave, sick or annual leave.
Location: Trident Lakes Golf Course aboard Naval Submarine Base, Kings Bay, GA
Area of Consideration: All Sources – NOTE: Applicant does not have to have current SUBASE access. If selected for position, access will be granted upon a favorable background check.
Duties: Responsible for the general care and upkeep of an 18-hole Golf Course. Must be able to operate a variety of golf course equipment to encourage grass growth, sodding and reseeding, fertilizing and spraying chemicals to discourage undesirable growths. Rolls greens, resets cups, flags and mows grass. Ensures that areas are policed and that trash and garbage are disposed of properly. Makes minor repairs on equipment and gear. Rakes sand traps and replaces with fresh sand as needed. Occasionally drives a truck to various sites, and to transport tools and equipment. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Must have a valid Driver’s License.
Must have knowledge of grounds upkeep and maintenance tasks and methods related to basic golf course maintenance.
Must be skilled in maintaining and preparing various golf course features for general use and scheduled events.
Must have basic motor vehicle operator skills.
- Must have the knowledge of/and ability to operate safely, various types of equipment used in the maintenance and upkeep of a golf course.
Physical Demands and Work Environment: Work requires frequent walking, standing, pushing, bending and stooping. Frequently lifts heavy objects up to 40 pounds and occasionally lifts objects over 40 pounds with assistance. Work is done outdoors and incumbent is exposed to hot sun, sometimes chilly or rainy weather; dirt, dust, mud and sometimes chemical sprays and dusts. Must wear issued protective equipment.
