Position: Custodial Worker, NA-3566-02
Salary: $15.75 per hour
Employment Category: Flexible, 0-40 hours per week, with no benefits. Will require working night, weekend and holiday hours. Night differential and holiday/Sunday premium pay will be paid for hours worked. NOTE: A flexible employee is one who serves in either a continuing or temporary (time limited) position, on a scheduled or unscheduled (as needed or intermittent) basis, up to 40 hours per week. Flexible employees are not eligible to participate in the CNIC benefit programs, nor are they entitled to earn or use leave including military leave, court leave, sick or annual leave.
Location: Primary: Eagle Hammock RV Park, Secondary: Various other MWR locations aboard Naval Submarine Base, Kings Bay, GA
Area of Consideration: All Sources – Applicant does not have to have current SUBASE access. If selected for position, access will be granted upon a favorable background check.
Relocation Expenses: Not Authorized
Duties: Cleans offices, storerooms, corridors, game rooms, indoor playground, restrooms, and other designated areas, including but not limited to: vacuuming, mopping, scrubbing, waxing and polishing floors. Washes windows, ceiling fixtures, walls and woodwork. Collects trash and deposits in dumpsters. Maintains outside entryways in a clean and orderly manner. Reports any safety hazards and needed repairs to the supervisor immediately. Other related duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications:
Ø General knowledge of cleaning procedures.
Ø General knowledge of proper use of cleaning equipment (vacuums, floor buffers and carpet shampooers) and approved commonly used chemicals.
Ø Ability to adhere to basic safety policies as required.
Ø Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively in English both verbally and in writing with management, staff, and patrons.
Physical Demands and Work Environment: This position is required to do considerable standing, bending, walking, pushing, pulling, climbing, and a variety of repetitive motions. Must have ability to perform moderately strenuous physical labor as unassisted lifting, moving and carrying of supplies and equipment weighing up to 45 pounds is required. Assisted lifting, moving and carrying up to 100 pounds may be required. Work is primarily performed indoors in areas that normally have adequate heat, light, and ventilation. Some duties require exposure to outdoors, resulting in exposure to weather conditions. The incumbent may be exposed to dirt, disagreeable odors, and skin/eye irritants from strong cleaning solutions used in household cleaners. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is provided and must be used.
