Virtual Reading Program

Enjoy a monthly, virtual creative story time, created by our very own KBTeens!
Get your child connected to youth mentorship within their military community and improve their literacy skills.
Each month you will receive a video link (via Facebook and/or our e-newsletter). The video will post to our MWR Kings Bay Facebook page the last Wednesday of each month and will be emailed to you via our e-newsletter the last Thursday of every month.

The story will change monthly. You do NOT need a copy of the book to follow along! See our books for the next 12 months below.
You can download most of the story time books for FREE from our MWR navy digital library at . See directions below.
Participation for the virtual reading program is unlimited. No registration required.
Stories are catered for ages 2.5-7 yrs old.
Active Duty families: To kick-off the program, we will be giving away a physical copy of the book to the first 17 Active Duty families (one book per a family) for January's reading.

These families must register at the link below to receive your free book (registration will close once the 17 families are registered or by January 12, 2021). Must be Active Duty and local to Kings Bay to receive & pick-up the free book.

Directions for setting up your virtual library account for digital downloads:
2: Select to register with the DS Login and be sure to have your Military ID number
3: find the “Need an Account?” blue tab on the left and create your account
3: Follow the directions to verify your account through email
4: Once you have successfully logged on, scroll down to the area labeled “Resources” click the “A-Z” directory
5: Click the O letter and scroll down to select the OverDrive option (do not choose the Kids library, choose the one on the left that is the overall database)
5: Create a user account through OverDrive
6: Once you have set up an account you can also choose to download the OverDrive free app, making downloading and logging in much simpler.
If you do not want to download the app, you can simply login to OverDrive and view your books by selecting the option to view “in your browser”
