Position:   NGIS Front Desk Associate, 1st, 2nd, or 3rd Shift, NF-0303-02

Salary:   $10.14 - $11.14 per hour, based on shift and qualifications/experience

Employment Category:   Regular Part Time, 20-34 hours per week, with benefits. May require working weekend, night and holiday hours.

Location:   Navy Gateway Inns & Suites aboard Naval Submarine Base, Kings Bay, GA

Area of Consideration:   All Sources – Do not have to have current SUBASE access.  If selected for position, access will be granted upon a favorable background check.

Duties:  Ensures guests’ security and privacy is maintained at all times.  Creates Daily, Monthly and Annual Occupancy reports.  Prepares Payment Activity Report for the new business day.  Notates any delinquent accounts.  Performs credit card batch settlement at end of business day.  Prepares credit card report and deposit for Business Office.  Performs computer generated night audit.  Opens new business day.  Verifies charges for correctness, makes appropriate changes if errors occur, and completes all computer generated reports as assigned and notates any account discrepancies for action by management.  May prepare registration packets for next day arrivals.  Prints building reports for maintenance department as required.  Backs up files on key card machine.  Receives requests and processes reservations.  Utilizes the Property Management System (PMS).  Registers and assigns rooms to guests.  Responsible for inventorying all keys and any other supplies or amenities maintained at the front desk.  Keeps the front desk and lobby area clean and neat.  May be required to run and print various reports from the property management system.  Performs Front Desk Associate duties as required.  Performs other related duties as assigned.                                                                                                    

Qualifications:   

  • Requires 6 months of work experience that demonstrates knowledge of basic principles, concepts, standards, regulations and administration related to customer service, reservations, front desk functions, and night auditing functions.

  • Knowledge and ability to complete and process night audit functions for all guest accounts.Ability to interpret results and complete all required accounting reports.

  • Must possess basic math and reading skills.

  • Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing in English.

  • Ability to handle, control, and account for large amounts of cash.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:   Work is primarily performed in an office environment.  Requirements include extended periods of standing; walking and lifting/carrying objects up to 30 pounds.  Work is primarily performed indoors in areas that normally have adequate heat, light and ventilation.          

Special Requirements:  This position may be designated ALPHA personnel for inclement weather or in the interest of national security and may be required to report for work when other employees are excused.  This position is subject to a favorable National Agency Check (NAC).  The incumbent is required to obtain a front desk certification or industry equivalent within 6 months of employment, as well as, any other requirements outlined in the Lodging Center Path Guide.
